Loved the books

This review is from: Nancy Drew (2007) (Amazon Instant Video) This movie is so adorable. I introduced nancy drew to my girls through this movie and they loved it! In typical Nancy Drew style there is just enough intrigue, fun, and ingenuity to make it work. Emma Roberts is fabulous.

None of the dialogue is particularly pointed, and the supposed Hollywood mean teens seem rather tame. (One of their big pranks involves stealing Nancy's cupcake.)

Unexpected fun

I was not sure if i should see this film or not, but i have seen it,and i really enjoyed it because it was pretty unexpected what i foundthere... I had never read Nancy Drew histories, but after watching themovie i really felt excited to buy some Nancy Drew book and read it!Emma Roberts were great and i think the rest of the staff had actedpretty well either, but i also believe the film should have showed moreof L.A, because the film were all passed always in the same places butfor me it is the worst of the film, because it was awesome! ThanksI hope you can understand my English! Happy new year! =)

The Sleuth Returns

A nice return for Nancy Drew. The acting wasn't the greatest but it was an entertaining family film. I grew up watching the Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys TV series so I was excited to see a return of some kind of a Nancy Drew media. Emma Watson shows some promising acting skills and in a few years she might be really good. Here's to more Nancy Drew mysteries.

Can't Stop Watching It Over and Over!

From the first time I saw this little movie on TV, I wanted to see it again. The characters have great chemistry and I love Miss Roberts as Nancy Drew! I only hope this becomes a series...I know the actress will soon be too old, but one can only hope! By the way, I am nearing 60 years of age and watch this alone as well as with my granddaughter.

Great movie for families and fans of the books!

I really enjoyed this movie. It succeeded in doing something that fewmovies do now; it provided family values while entertaining me. NancyDrew is a heroine for all generations and a role model for young girlsto look up to. The little girls I was with throughly enjoyed the movieand kept talking about Nancy as we walked out of the theater. The moviehas relatively few problems for families and I don't think parents willget bored sitting in the theater. No, it won't win an Oscar and it didnot showcase magnificent special effects or even provide a horriblyspooky mystery, but it entertained me and it stood true to the thespirit of the books. I would definitely recommend this movie to anybodywith a young girl (she will love it!) or any fan of the books. You willnot be disappointed.

Bland, unoriginal and plain boring, Emma Roberts' significant charm simply isn't enough to carry this sorry attempt to resuscitate the girl detective.

Surprisingly fun

I'm a 16 year old teenager who took my 10 year old sister to Nancy Drewthis morning. She's been bored sitting around the house all summer, somy mom suggested I go with her to see the first showing. I took her,not expecting much, thinking I could just sit back and not care whatwas going on. I've never read the Nancy Drew books, but my youngersister has and plays the computer games. She absolutely LOVED it, and Iwas surprised with myself when I found that I was paying attention,enjoying the movie. The plot is a bit weak, but functional. The characters are fun towatch, especially the Californians. I thought some of her methods werea bit far-fetched (I found myself thinking-- What teenage girl carriesthat around with her 24/7?), but then again, it is a creation ofHollywood. It's not Oscar quality at all, but it's a fun one just tokick back and enjoy.

I'm a big fan of of the Nancy drew books. However, I couldn't believe the bad language in this movie! I used to love this movie until a noticed that!

Nancy Drew (2007) Review

Nancy Drew (2007) ReviewPlot: Nancy and her father are going to Hollywood for Carson Drew's work. I disliked this movie, the plot is suspossed to be for kids, but I wish they could've had a little more tennager like.Characters: Besides, Carson, Bess, George, and Ned, there are no another characters from the series of books, They add new characters which were very strange, but I was hoping for the characters we grew up with to be in this movie. :(Nancy's New Look: I'm soory, but I think Emma Roberts was a bad choice for Nancy, she looks nothing like her, and they didn't keep Nancy's character the same. Nancy is suspossed to be titian colored haired teen, not a brown colored. Besides, Nancy is way too perfect in this movie, how are girls going to relate to Nancy if she's too cutsy, and pefect?Overall, I didn't like this movie at all, it's bad! :((Aubrey's Rating System)0/5I hope some company will make a true Nancy Drew movie for us fans.Thanks for reading! :)

Excellent movie!

I feel like we are so inundated with movies and media that contain themes, language, and images that bring me down. But this movie was clean, engaging, interesting, and entertaining! I hope they continue to make more movies in this series.
